The Federico Panama Fine has a medium 6cm brim and a grosgrain logo ribbon at 3cm. The production of Borsalino straw hats begins in Ecuador,

where local straw is collected from the stems of the toquilla palm, boiled and dried in the sun. 

A process that can take up to six months. Skilled Ecuadorian artisans weave by hand, making making ultra-thin unfinished hats. 

After careful quality control, these are sent to Alessandria for their ongoing rigorous and intricate processes

production process. Then, once the ribbon is added, the brim is hardened and the hat is ready for the final steps: decorative, 

stitching, inspection and packaging - all finished by hand. The history of the Panama hat is amazing and timeless.
