Claudette Panama Fine Wide Brim Rosa

The Claudette Panama Fine hat emphasizes style. It has a 9cm brim and for decoration it has a 4cm grosgrain ribbon in rosa color.

The production of Borsalino straw hats begins in Ecuador, where the local straw is harvested from the stems of the toquilla palm tree, is boiled and dried in the sun. Ecuadorian artisans then hand-weave it, making it into extremely fine

unfinished hats. After careful quality control, these are sent to Alessandria Maison. They are inspected again before the initial shaping and a hydraulic pressure machine creates the shape and size of the hat. The operation is repeated to

to create the traditional Borsalino shape. The excess of the sandal is cut off and the edge of the brim is sewn on. Then the mat is made stiff and allowed to dry slowly.   The inner band is then sewn on, followed by a final shaping with the

hydraulic press.

The ribbon is added and the brim is stiffened before the hat is ready for the final steps: trim, stitching, final inspection and

packaging - all completed by hand. This is the art of the hat. 

The size of this hat conforms to standard measurements, based on the circumference of the head.
